In-Depth Class Series: Heritage Cooking & Knife Skills
Exploring Traditional Thai Cuisine
• Two hands-on Cooking Classes, each with lunch •
• A Trip to the Thai Vegetable Market •
• Mastering Knife Skills Training •
One of the best ways to explore Thailand’s lengthy menu is to take a cooking course that teaches everything you need to know starting with the basics. What makes Thailand one of the most popular cuisine in Southeast Asia is its versatile mix of sweet, salty, spicy and tangy. The beauty is that you can flavor any Thai dish such as Tom Yum Goong or Phad Thai according to your liking – mild to spicy - while still retaining its Thai-ness.

In this creative course, Christina demystifies and guides you from beginning to cook exotic Thai dishes so you cook successfully on your own. You will actively participate in tasting and using key ingredients such as lemongrass, galangal, ginger, Thai basil, coconut milk, fish sauce, palm sugar and tamarind to develop flavor. You will learn the Thai art of blending and balancing the five main flavors – salty, sour, sweet, pungent and bitter to create fabulous appetizers, salads, soups, curries, stir-fries, condiments and desserts.

As you journey in Traditional Thai cuisine, you will enjoy learning about: herbs and spices; the fresh selection of Asian vegetables; essential knife skills for cutting meat, poultry, and seafood preparation; using noodles and rice; and proper wok methods. We will take an exciting tour to the vegetable market to help you to select and buy Thai ingredients - an immersion into Thai culture. Confidence in cooking authentic, exquisite and healthy Thai meals that you, your family and friends will love, is the takeaway from this series of classes.
